Today, he is growing into a smart (and sometimes smart-mouthed) boy who carries on big conversations and has a vivid imagination. With lots of big events packed into September he thought it would be best to be low-key and have a family-only party.
Uncle Kevin and Aunt Natalie were expecting their new baby any day so we celebrated with them earlier in the month. Papa K had a cold so he decided not to come. The party was very small, but Brayden enjoyed it.
A couple days before his Batm*n party I asked Brayden what he wanted to order for his birthday. His exact words were, "Mom, we've been pretty busy lately and we are getting ready to go on a trip so why don't we just have a bowl of cereal."
I really liked his thinking, but told him we should offer his guests something a little more filling. His replied, "We could give them a piece of watermelon too, MOM (as in duh)." And there you have it. A decisive kid with a future in event planning.
Nannie B and Papa G got him the glove, T and bases he wanted.
